You ask yourself, why use likelihood ratios?
diagnostic test strengthen the estimate that a disease is likely in a given test result
Gives the clinician a measurement of magnitude by which test results strengthens the clinical assessment
sens and spec pertain to the likelihood of a particular test result in patients that are known to have or not have the disease in question. They do not tell the physician how likely the individual patient is to have the disease as a result of that test result. If two or more test results are available, sens and spec. no longer apply
